The Board audited government’s Code enforcement infrastructure and processes in December 1999 in An Audit of the Government of British Columbia’s Framework for Enforcement of the Forest Practices Code (IPA). This audit set out to provide the public and the three government ministers with an independent, objective assessment of government’s framework for Code enforcement and to establish a solid foundation for developing the Board’s enforcement audits.

This is the Board’s report on a compliance audit of Forest Licence A18690, held by Ainsworth Lumber Company Ltd. The operating area for this licence is located within the Kamloops Forest District, primarily around the communities of Cache Creek and Ashcroft. The audit examined Ainsworth’s field activities and obligations for the period of July 1, 1999 to July 19, 2000, related to operational planning; timber harvesting; silviculture; fire protection; construction, maintenance and deactivation of roads; and construction and maintenance of bridges.

This is the Board’s report on a compliance audit of the Robson Valley Forest District Small Business Forest Enterprise Program (Robson Valley SBFEP). The Robson Valley SBFEP is operated within the Robson Valley Forest District, which is located in east-central British Columbia and lies primarily within the Rocky Mountain trench. The audit examined the Robson Valley SBFEP’s planning, field activities and obligations related to operational planning, timber harvesting, silviculture, fire protection and the construction, maintenance and deactivation of roads for the period of Sept. 27, 1999 to Sept. 29, 2000.
